“Scene & Heard is one of those rare, simple and beautiful ideas which you nearly thought of yourself but didn’t quite get round to.  If everyone sent a tenner then that part of town would forever be in better shape.”

Bill Nighy, Actor and Scene & Heard Patron

Everything we do at Scene & Heard is offered free of charge, from the courses the children take to our amazing performances.

The individuals who support Scene & Heard are passionate about giving children a platform for success and expanding their sense of what is possible.

Individual Giving Scheme

“Why do I support Scene & Heard? The visible joy of the children as they see their work being applauded is heart-warming, but the real reason I keep going back is because I enjoy the plays so much.”

In Memory and Legacy Giving

In Memory

We are grateful for any gift, whatever the size.

Legacy

You can support the next generation by leaving a gift in your will to Scene & Heard. Your legacy will help us plan our work and support our young playwrights today, tomorrow and well into the future of their young lives.

We recommend using a solicitor or legal professional if you're thinking of writing or amending your will, but we can help with any questions you have about leaving a gift to Scene & Heard and how you might like your gift to be spent.

If you plan to make a gift to us in your Will, or if you've already included a gift to Scene & Heard in your Will, we'd love to hear from you to say thank you.

Become a Volunteer

Volunteering with Scene & Heard is an amazing way for artists to use their skills and talents to realise the imaginations of children on stage. It is our policy that we work with arts professionals from the worlds of theatre, film, TV and radio. We are actively seeking actors, writers and directors from all the different heritages and backgrounds that London has to offer.

Scene & Heard is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All volunteers are required to complete a check with the Disclosure and Barring Service before working with us.

Our commitment to our volunteer theatre professionals includes:

  • Providing a uniquely challenging and rewarding experience

  • Providing the opportunity to develop professional skills and contacts

  • Releasing volunteers from their commitments to us at any point if there is a conflict with professional work

  • “It’s helped me as an actor because I know I’m appreciated and allowed to be bold”

Nigel Anthony, Actor and Scene & Heard volunteer

  • “Your time and your talent are valuable resources, and Scene & Heard celebrates this by partnering you with young people to whom those very things can make a clear and obvious difference. It can be hugely empowering because you are choosing to give, rather than choosing to receive.”

Susie Trayling, Actor and Scene & Heard volunteer

  • “There’s nothing I do that is more completely creative than Scene & Heard: you feel swept along by the ideas, it’s complete freedom and the outcomes are massive.”
