Teachers’ Pack
A revised and updated teaching resource to help pupils build literacy, confidence, creativity and communication through playwriting.
Experts in our field, we are keen to share best practice and to broaden opportunities for more children to benefit from our playwriting model. Whilst it is difficult to replicate our one-to-one mentoring leading to professional productions of children’s plays, there are elements of our curriculum that can translate into a classroom setting allowing students to engage with literacy and language in new and exciting ways.
Developed in consultation with primary school teachers, Scene & Heard staff and volunteer theatre professionals, the Scene & Heard Teachers’ Pack is a series of lesson plans that can be used as part of Literacy, Creative Writing and Drama. Aimed at Key Stage Two, the Teachers’ Pack was recently revised and updated in line with the current curriculum and need within schools.
We have sent a digital and physical copy completely FREE to every primary school in Camden. The resource is also widely available to download FREE for all. This initiative was a highlight of Scene & Heard’s tenure as the Mayor of Camden’s Charity of the Year 2024 to 2025, reflecting the charity’s ongoing commitment to championing children’s voices and the arts.
“Great resource – I’m developing a drama workshop for KS2 (never done this before) and some great techniques and ideas for helping students begin to write their own plays. Thank you.”
