FAQs

How do I book?

Email us at info@sceneandheard.org or ring on 020 7388 9009 to discuss your requirements.

Once we have all the details confirmed, we’ll send you a booking form to complete, with an invoice and payment information. You will need to complete your payment and booking form – your booking will be secured only once we have received both.

The income we receive through our hires directly supports the work of Scene & Heard (registered charity no. 1077836) – we appreciate your booking and your support of our work.

Can I book a regular (weekly) class at Scene & Heard HQ?

We are not currently taking bookings for regular weekly classes/activities as we run our own courses alongside our carefully curated programme of hires.

When booking, do I need to include time to setup and pack down?

Your studio slot will start and finish as booked, we do not allow extra time to setup or pack down so please add that into your booking time. The studio must be left as you found it.

Is VAT charged on Studio Hire at Scene & Heard HQ?

No. As a small charity, we are not VAT registered.

What if I need to cancel a booking?

Our cancellation policy starts from the time you confirm the booking and receive the invoice. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • If you cancel more than two weeks in advance of the date of hire will receive a full refund
  • If you cancel within two weeks of your hire booking, we will retain your deposit, ie 25% of the full cost of hire
  • If you cancel within 24 hours of the booking date, you will be charged 100% of the cost of hire

Can I make changes to a booking?

We understand that sometimes things change and we will try to accommodate any changes if we can. Depending on what you are asking to change, this may incur some additional costs, all of which would be discussed with you in advance. If we cannot accommodate the changes you’ve asked for (e.g. if you are trying to reschedule but we do not have availability for your new dates), our normal cancellation policy will apply.

How do I find out about any Health & Safety matters that I need to be aware of?

All hirers will complete an induction programme with Scene & Heard staff to include orientation and information about Health & Safety arrangements and equipment within the building.

Scene & Heard will provide you with a Health & Safety checklist to help you prepare and plan for your hire.

All hirers are required to note the fire action procedure, location of fire alarms, fire extinguishers and fire exits.

What if I or someone with me breaks something?

Any items damaged or broken will need to be paid for in full by the hirer.

Are children welcome?

Children are welcome in the studio space if they are under supervision at all times. We will ask you at the time of booking details of who will be using the space.

Scene & Heard is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all hirers to share this commitment.

Do you have disabled access and facilities?

We have a step-free entrance and are fully accessible, with accessible toilets (with shower). An induction loop is available in the main studio space, please let us know when booking if you need to use it.

We are also open to access animals, please let us know when booking if you may be bringing one with you.

Do you have changing rooms?

We have gender-neutral toilet/shower facilities which are accessible and can be used as changing rooms.

Do you have any computers or printing facilities available?

No. All hirers should bring their own laptops/equipment. We are very conveniently located for Camden High Street and Kings Cross, where there are numerous shops (including shops with printing and copying facilities) should you need them.

Are there Wifi facilities?

Yes. We will provide you with login details.

Do you have kitchen facilities?

Hirers have the use of a small galley/laundry area, where there is a kettle and mini fridge. You will need to provide your own mugs, tea, coffee etc. There are also many cafes and shops within walking distance.

If your hire is outside of our normal office hours, we may be able to give you access to the Scene & Heard staff kitchen (for an additional cost).

Are there break-out spaces?

Depending on your needs, we may be able to offer a break-out space in addition to your studio hire (additional costs will apply).

Can we make “noise”?

All hirers and users must respect our neighbours and are required to keep noise (especially outside the premises) to appropriate levels based on the time of day.

Can we see the spaces before we book?

We’d be happy to show you around our HQ and have a chat about your plans and preferences. Please email info@sceneandheard.org to book a time to come and speak to us.
