We work extremely hard to raise our own funds. Patrons, volunteers and supporters regularly stand up, sit down, walk, run, sing, answer questions, tell jokes and do funny things to help raise money for Scene & Heard.
From lavish black-tie galas to our very own annual pub quiz, from comedy gigs to karaoke, we are extremely grateful to everyone who has organised, encouraged, sponsored and taken part in our events. The sponsored walk was a mainstay of our early fundraising efforts, while marathon runners have also contributed a huge amount. Volunteer Sam Dutton ran the London Marathon dressed as Scene & Heard character Pins and Needles; supporter Jim Paterson ran a phenomenal twelve marathons in 2012, whilst volunteers Jessica Radcliffe, Billy Oliver, Luke Healy and Alan Park have all gone the distance in various cities across the globe. Scene & Heard will have a runner in the postponed London Marathon in October 2021.
We are honoured to have hosted HRH The Countess of Wessex on two occasions to see our shows and meet our children and volunteers. You can see pictures of The Countess’ visit here.
