The Universal Plays!
A Replay Production
REPLAY

Children who have completed Playmaking One are invited back a year later to take the Replay course. The format is much the same as Playmaking One except that there are fewer classes which are longer in duration, and each week focuses on a stand-alone writing exercise.

The main difference with this course is that the children are required to introduce a third character into their drama. This character’s appearance must be brief and its purpose is to change the course of the action of the play. The children do not meet their actors before writing their play and are encouraged to rely fully on their imagination, with the support of their dramaturg. In performance, the same actor plays the third characters in all of these plays. Once again the children join their actors onstage to take a bow.
